Living Daylights

Saint Paul, 24 August 2010
Sugar delivered a punch with his left hand to Olson's right jaw
that must have made him see stars as he sagged to the canvas
like a bag of cement.

~ Edan Mae Robinson on the 1956 boxing match
between Sugar Ray Robinson & Carl Bobo Olson

Mushy Callahan
laid the ten count
in the second round.

Little did Bobo know
his shift was over when
Sugar Ray punched his clock.

But Sugar remembered
to hit the lights
on his way out.
