Sea of Rains

Saint Paul, 3 January 2006

Late October, early November
We journey through ribbons of particles
Taurids hurled from the constellation Taurus
Pepper us like an inner-stellar sneeze

Space dust disintegrates to dazzling streaks
And reports of fireballs light up NASA phonebanks
Like a 70 kilogram T-N-T blasts outward to
Overflow the Sea of Rains
